A number of LECESSE employees volunteered their time and talents to the United Way Day of Caring on May 8, 2008.  We were paired up with longtime partner Providence Housing and lent a hand with yard work and landscaping at one of their properties.  The LECESSE team was happy to help out!

Corporate Challenge

2008 corp challenge.web.JPGOn Thursday, May 29th LECESSE employees joined a record number 11,135 participants for the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge.  Congratulations to the entire 2008 Team for walking or running the 3.5 mile course.   A special "Well Done" to Jason Hussar and Suzanne Treviso, our speediest athletes. LECESSE has participated in the Corporate Challenge for the past 5 years, supporting a variety of area charities with the proceeds from this event.

New Bookstore at School #35

35School.web.JPGLECESSE Construction employee Mary Wooderson (pictured below) coordinated a start-up capital and supply drive to help city school students at School #35 open a bookstore.  Mary asked LECESSE employees for help in raising the $150.00 needed to open the bookstore.   Two short weeks later, Mary found herself with over $1,000 in cash and a box full of supplies to donate to School #35.  Administrators and students alike were excited to hear of the extreme generosity of people at this time of the year and are equally as excited about having and operating their own bookstore!

Tioga County Volunteer Home Repair Project

TiogaVol.crop.JPGLECESSE Construction and Providence Housing joined Tioga Outreach Center to rehabilitate homes that were seriously damaged in last summer's floods.

Over 50 volunteers in total (day 1 pictured at right) traveled to the towns of Owego, Nichols and Apalachin every day the entire week of March 26 through the 30th to help people repair and restore their homes. Skilled tradesmen volunteered their expertise and provided direction for work ranging from insulation and drywall installation, masonry, electrical and trim work to minor home repairs.

Below is a list of our associates who graciously donated money, assistance and supplies to help offset the cost of materials.
